The birth of Bodhi Pharmacy was the result of the untiring efforts of the founders Mr. E.B. Raju & Mrs. Bindhu Raju. Mr. E.B. Raju with more than 20 years experience in the Ayurvedic medicine field hails from a family who were engaged in manufacturing and sales of Ayurvedic Medicine formulation and preparations over the past 70 years. His grand father Mr. Kunjan Vaidhyan started his carrier as an Ayurvedic Physician, gradually entering into the field of manufacture of Medicines. Mr. E.K. Balachandran, Father of Mr. E.B. Raju owns a well – established, Ayurvedic Medicine shop at Kalady. Dr.B. Raju, brother of Mr. E.B. Raju is a B.A.M.S. Degree holder and is also working as a part time Physician with Bodhi Pharmacy. Under their efficient guidance, Ayurvedic medicines strictly adhering to the ancient scripts in Ayurveda are manufactured.
Kerala is virtually the capital of Ayurveda, the traditional Indian System of Medicine. It boasts of a number of manufacturing/treatment centres of traditional Ayurveda. Nowadays Indians as well as foreigners are aware of the importance and benefits of Ayurveda and are coming in large numbers to Kerala for Ayurvedic treatment. Growth potential of Kottackal Aryavaidyasala and emergence of new entrants with large scale investments bears testimony to this. Seeing this potential Mr. E. B. Raju and three other formed a partnership under the name and style “BODHI PHARMACY” in 1991 and started manufacturing Ayurvedic Medicines from 1993.
Bodhi Pharmacy began investigating Ayurveda using modern technology, applying contemporary scientific processes to traditional claims. By using the same modern production processes employed by pharmaceutical industries worldwide, Bodhi Pharmacy has been carving out a success story in the Ayurvedic pharmaceutical field all these years. The company has its own in-house manufacturing units, so as to have total control over quality and production. The company manufactures nearly 200 items of classical medicines like Arishtas, Gritam, Kashyam, etc...
