Quality comes first, is not just mere words to us. It is a maxim imbibed across our organization. Greatest care is taken in manufacturing the products where all the active ingredients adhere to st andardized specifications rigidly implemented and chosen with care to ensure relevance. Stability data, conformity to drug standards and the scientific approach to product formulation are inherent to the approach. Importantly, the products retain the traditional approach as prescribed by the ancient texts, an excellent blend of the modern with the ancient well-tried system. A rigorous approach to the quality control, both in process and for the finished product, is pursued.
GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES
The Central Government after consultation with the Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani Drugs, Technical Advisory Board made it compulsory to companies to meet with the requirement of Good Manufacturing practices of Ayurveda – Siddha – Unani drugs as laid down in Schedule T of the Drugs and Cosmetic Rules 1945, before June 2002.
The Good Manufacturing Practices are prescribed to ensure that:-
1) Row material used in the manufacturing of drugs are authentic, of prescribed quality and are free from contamination.
2) The manufacturing process is as has been prescribed to maintain the standards.
3) Adequate quality control measures are adopted.
4) The manufactured drug which is released for sale is of acceptable quality.
5) To achieve the objective listed above, each licensee shall evolve methodology and procedures for following the prescribed process of manufacture of drugs, which should be documented as a manual and kept for reference and inspection.
